Kalpana Vishwas
Kalpana Vishwas born in 1995 in Uttar Pradesh, completed her BFA & MFA in painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, 2016 & 2018 respectively. Love towards nature is central to Kalpana Vishwas’s recent works. Vishwas represents nature not merely objectively, but as something intimate and personal. Depicting the many facets of nature, the silence and mystery of the natural world rarely noticed by the modern man habituated with the first-paced life of modernity, she works meditatively using multiple mediums to execute her works.
Vishwas has participated in several group shows including: ‘Creative Impulse: Unfolding Images’ Group Exhibition at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Ary Gallery Guwahati, Assam(2024), 8th Young Santiniketan Artis’s Exhibition, Santiniketan (2023), ‘Ishah’ an exhibition of works by women artist, Ahmedabad (2022); ‘Aroh’ online exhibition at Emami Art Gallery, Kolkata (2020); Dih-Pahr-Cher at Ganges Art Gallery, Kolkata (2020); Inside the Fibre at ArtsAcre Museum, Kolkata (2019); Emami Art Fair at Emami Art, Kolkata (2019). She is the recipient of the National Scholarship (2017). She was also part of the Space Studio summer residency program in Baroda, Gujarat 2024.
Kalpana Vishwas lives and works in Santiniketan, India.
